Google Earth Pro is Now Free

I like to use map tools including Google Maps and Google Earth in my Scouting activities.  I have used Google Earth for years to map hikes, canoe trips, bike routes, and locations.  Today, I just found out that while the regular version has been free to download and use for years, sometime in the past Google also made the Pro version free.

You can download Google Earth here: https://www.google.com/earth/

The application is below.  You can draw on the maps, measure distances, plot points of interest and label them, and make as many groups of information as you would like.  Your added items show up in "Places" on the left and you can enable - turn on - and disable - turn off - any place.  In the example I show, I have drawn a circle with a radius of 10 miles around Lord of Glory Church.  I wanted to use this for the mulch sale webpage; however, I won't use this one as I cannot turn off the satellite view of the map using Google Earth.  I will use a different tool.
