Did You Know.... Keep Track of More Than Advancement in Your Handbook

In our Troop, we use the BSA Handbook as the primary record source.  We do keep copies of the records electronically using TroopMaster, but we refer to the Scout's Handbook as the official place for the records to be kept.  Of course, your rank advancement is signed off in your Scout Handbook. But, you should also keep other records in it.

In the back of the handbook, several useful logs similar to the ones shown above are included.  The logs included in the 13th Edition of the Handbook are

  • Merit Badges Earned and Dates
  • Leadership and Training
  • Hiking
  • Camping
  • Service

Whenever you complete any of the above activities, you should add them to the appropriate log and have me initial the entry.
